Overview
Unico Connect is seeking a Xano Developer to build production-grade backends in Xano for client web and mobile products. The role spans database design, REST API construction, function stack composition, and the integration work that connects Xano to WeWeb, FlutterFlow, Bubble, and native frontends. The position is well suited to early-career no-code backend developers with strong fundamentals in REST APIs, authentication, and database design.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Xano databases, REST APIs, and function stacks for client products
- Implement authentication flows, permissions, and rate limiting
- Integrate with WeWeb, FlutterFlow, Bubble, or native mobile frontends
- Write custom functions and code blocks in Xano's scripting environment
- Maintain documentation for client teams and post-launch handoff
- Pair with senior Xano developers on architecture decisions
- Participate in client training sessions on Xano workflows
- Contribute to internal Xano templates and shared function libraries
- Maintain version control discipline for Xano workspaces
- Triage Xano performance issues and debug function stack bottlenecks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or strong portfolio of Xano projects
- 1-3 years of backend development with at least 1 year on Xano
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and authentication
- Comfortable reading documentation and troubleshooting Xano performance issues
- Familiar with at least 1 of WeWeb, FlutterFlow, or Bubble
- Working knowledge of SQL and database design
- Capacity to debug API integration issues
- Excellent written communication for client documentation
- Comfort with Git for custom code versioning
- Working knowledge of authentication patterns including OAuth and JWT
Preferred Qualifications
- Hand-written backend experience (Node.js, Python)
- Xano Enterprise tier exposure
- PostgreSQL knowledge beyond what Xano exposes
- Open-source contributions
- Webhook and event-driven architecture experience
AI Tools Proficiency
Production engineering at Unico Connect assumes AI tools form part of the daily workflow rather than an experimental augmentation. For this role specifically:
- Xano AI Schema Generator
